The famous pilgrim in Kerala, Sabarimala Temple is accessible through Mount Sathram by trekking through the dense forest. During festival seasons people use this place for resting, before starting the trek and hence the name Sathram, arise.
Satram is famous for the off-roading trail, which can be accessed only by 4*4 vehicles. You can also use your two-wheeler's for the offroading trail(depending on the weather condition). Jeep Safaris are also available from Vandiperiyar to Sathram at a nominal cost.

How to Reach
Vandiperiyar can be accessed either via Kumily (from Thekkady/Munnar/Theni) or via Kanjirapally (from Kottayam/Kochi) through National Highway 220(NH 220) which otherwise know Kottayam-Kumily Road or in short KK Road.
