Marmala Waterfalls near Vagamon

Description

Marmala Waterfalls lies near Theekoy which is about 13 km from Erattupetta, in Kottayam district, Kerala. It lies near to Vagamon, which is a famous top station after Munnar. Marmala Waterfalls is not much popular among the fellow travelers but it offers a very attractive and pleasing view.

Marmala Waterfalls is just 8kms from Theekoy. If you are coming from Erattupeta, after crossing Theekoy, take the first left towards the Theekoy - Mangalagiri Road, which is also a shortcut towards Vagamon.

Good to Know

The road from Mangalagiri to Marmala Waterfalls(about 3kms) is currently under construction(Last updated: Oct 04-2-2017), and solling has been completed recently only. You can either trail to Marmala with you 2 wheeler or 4 wheeler. And once the road finishes, you need to trail about 200meters through the walkway on the sides of a private rubber plantation in order to reach the waterfall.

The Marmala waterfall is about 60 meters in height and is falling into a 12-meter deep pool and later joins to Meenachil River. The waterfall and its surroundings enchant one to it goodness of Mother Nature and definitely be a feast for our eyes.
