KTDC Aranya Nivas is a jungle resort in Thekkady, Idukki district of Kerala. Aranya Nivas is situated inside the famous Periyar Tiger Reserve and it is close to the Periyar Lake Boating.
Thekkady is an ideal destination for wildlife tourism in Kerala and there are many ecotourism programs conducted by Periyar Tiger Reserve. You will be able to see elephants, bison, sambar deer, barking deer, wild boar and a variety of birds here. If you are lucky, you may see a tiger, leopard, bear, wild dog, etc during the forest trekking in Periyar Tiger Reserve.

Additional Details:
- KTDC Hotel Aranya Nivasa is situated inside Periyar National Park. The entry to Periyar Sanctuary will be closed by 5.00 pm. Hence guests are requested to enter the sanctuary before 5.00 pm.
- Entry into the resort is possible only between 6.00 am. and 6.00 pm.
- Guests of Aranya Nivas are advised to reserve the seats for Periar Lake boating in advance.
- Guests are requested to reach Aranya Nivas before 1.30 pm to board the last Periyar Lake boat trip for wildlife watching closely.
