01. Munnar

Munnar is located in the South Western Indian state of Kerala and also known as the ‘Kashmir of South India’.

One of the hidden gems in Munnar which is rich with its natural Vegetation is Vattavada. Vattavada is located about 45km east of Munnar and is an ideal offbeat destination in Munnar. It is a rain shadow village and is known as the market of Kerala as they are famous for vegetable production.

Munnar is famous for Neelakurinji’ a flower which blooms once in twelve years. It’s also a popular honeymoon destination in South India.

02. Yercad

Yercaud is a hill station situated in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is famous for its orange groves, coffee, and other spice plantations. Yercaud is mainly known for its cool weather and scenic locales. It is situated in Salem district of Tamil Nadu.

Kodaikanal the famous hill station of South India is located in Dindigul District of Tamil Nadu. Kodaikanal is also referred to as the Princess of Hill Stations’. It was established in 1845 during the colonial period and its mainly known for its rich flora. It has a cool temperature and is the most famous tourist spot in South India.

05. Coonoor

Coonoor is another hill station which is situated in the Nilgiris District of state Tamil Nadu. Coonoor is the second largest town in the Nilgiri hills after Ooty. Coonoor is situated at a distance of 18 km from Ooty and is mainly known for its Production of Nilgiri tea. It is famous for a variety of wildflowers and birds.

06. Kottagiri

Kotagiri which is also known as Kothagiri is the third largest Hill station in the  Nilgiris hills Kotagiri is located about 33km southeast of Ooty and is a taluk in the Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu. Kotagiri is a town which is rich with its peaceful atmosphere and is believed to have the world’s second best climate.

07. Coorg

Valpara or Valparai is a hill station situated in the Coimbatore District of Tamil Nadu. Valparai is surrounded by tea plantations and also known to have many leopards. The place is rich with birds mainly with the presence of hornbill. Valparai is pollution free land which attracts tourists with it heavenly beauty. The place is rich with beautiful plantations, waterfalls, dams and other exciting views. Valparai is located about 25km away from Malakkapara, Kerala.

Malakkapara is a small hill station situated at Thrissur District of Kerala and is the border between Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Malakkapara is known as the gateway to Valparai from Kerala side.

Ponmudi is a hill station situated in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. It is a popular tourist spot as it is famous for backpacking and trekking in Kerala. Ponmudi also has a good climate and has a golden valley which is one of the major attractions. 11.Vagamon

Vagamon or Wagamon is a hill station located towards the border of Idukki district and Kottayam district of Kerala. Wagamon has a cool climate and it was earlier used by the Britishers for tea plantations. It is also believed to be one of the first British tea plantations in Kerala.

Vagamon is also famous for three hills namely Thangal, Murugan and Kurishumala which are the representation of the religions in the state of Kerala. Vagamon is rich with many tourist spots including pine forests, tea estates, waterfalls, etc which seeks the attention of people and is an apt place to spend time fruitfully.

12. Agumbe

Agumbe is a village located in the Shimoga district of Karnataka and it is nicknamed as the Cherapunji of South India. Situated in the core area of Western Ghats, Agumbe is popular as a tourist spot which mainly focuses on conservation, documentation of medical plants, trekking, and photography.  Most of the people who live in Agumbe are farmers and the main crops which are grown here are Rice & Areca.
