Kochareekkal Caves – Less Explored Place in Ernakulam

Kochareekkal caves (കൊച്ചരേക്കൽ ഗുഹ) is one of the least explored beauties in Ernakulam district of Kerala. Kochareekkal caves is situated near Areekal Waterfalls in Piramadam. Situated at about 12 km from Piravom town, Kochareekkal caves is covered with huge trees and caves which feels like a deep jungle.
Kochareekal caves is supported by huge roots of the tree. It is so big that it can accommodate up to 20 people. This is one of the best places for you to escape from the overloaded city life.
Even though Kochareekkal caves is currently not present in the tourist map, it's getting popular. Nowadays this place is often visited by people for enjoying the evening and spending some time with nature. The best time to visit this place is during the rainy season especially evening time.
There is also a pond nearby in which you can taste the best water in Ernakulam. It is also used as a water source by the adjacent village citizens.

Route 1: Ernakulam -> Thiruvankulam -> Maneed -> Anchalpetty - > Pampakkuda -> Kochareekkal Caves
