BHADRA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY:

The southern part of the bird species found here is ruby-throated bulbul, shama, Malabar whistling thrush and paradise flycatcher making it a paradise for bird watchers and wildlife photographerIs also known as Muthodi Wildlife Sanctuary. It is a natural treasure trove of beauty and abundance of wildlife.
The Sanctuary is situated in the midst of the Western Ghats in Chikmangalur and Shimoga districts. It is spread across a vast area of 492 sq.kms and is home to mammals like tiger, leopard, elephant, gaur, slender loris and pangolin.
RANGANATHITTU BIRD SANCTUARY:

During winter over 40,000 birds gather here, some from as far away as Siberia, Europe and the Himalayas. Ranger guided boat rides are offered here for visitors to observe these brilliant creatures up close.I located in Mandya district and is spread across 0.67 sq.kms. It comprises of six islets on the banks of the river Cauvery and is located 3 km from the historic town of Srirangapatna. 16kms north of Mysuru.
The Ranganathittu bird sanctuary houses over 170 species of birds like cormorants, darter, white ibis, great stone plover, cliff swallow, spoonbills and lesser whistling teal roost here all through the year.
BANNERGHATTA NATIONAL PARK:

The northern part of the park also houses a mini aviary, a butterfly garden, and a museum too. Mammals in the park include Indian leopard, gaur, Indian Elephant, golden jackal, fox, wild boar, sloth bear, sambar, spotted deer, barking deer, common langur, bonnet macaque, and Indian crested porcupines.Located in Bengaluru district, the Nannerghatta National Park covers an area of 115sq.km. Panthers, lions, and tigers rule the expanse of the park. It also houses a variety of birds and tree species as well.
For visitors to get a sense of adventure, the park offers a lion and tiger safari. The Bannerghatta zoo, the zoological garden, and the children’s corner add to the attractions in the park.
DANDELI WILDLIFE SANCTUARY:
Malabar_Pied_Hornbill_Dandeli-Wildlife-Sanctuary
Is located in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. It covers an area of over 866 sq.kms. The sanctuary is home to nearly 200 bird species with the most famous ones beingthe great Indian Hornbill and the Malabar Pied Hornbill. The Dandeli wildlife sanctuary is a popular destination for nature enthusiasts for its diversity in plants and animal life. The Dandeli elephant reserve was officially set under project elephant in 2015.
The sanctuary is also known to house the Indian sloth bear, the Indian pangolin, the giant Malabar squirrel, dhole, the Indian jackal, and the barking deer. The king cobra and the Indian crocodile are the prime reptilians in Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary.
DAROJI SLOTH BEAR SANCTUARY:

Spread across 82 sq.kms, the Daroji Sloth Bear Sanctuary is located in Bellary district in north Karnataka, about 15kms from the world heritage site Hampi. It was mainly setup for the conservation of sloth bears. Visitors can take a drive through the forest to explore the habitat of these fascinating creatures. It is also a haven for animals such as wild bears, pangolins, porcupines and jackals.
Native birds such as spur fowls, sand grouse, yellow throated bulbul and stone curlews can also be seen here. There is a watchtower within the sanctuary that provides a vantage point to view the bears descending from the adjacent hillocks during evening hours.
DUBARE RESERVE FOREST:

Dubare elephant camp is the ideal destinations for those looking to get close to elephants and learning about their habitat and habits. Dubare also offers to its visitor’s fun, fishing, rafting and trekking in its wild hilly terrains.Located amongst the beautiful Western Ghats on the banks of Cauvery in Kodagu district, the Dubare forest is famous for its elephant camp.
Dubare was once the training camp for Mysuru Dasara elephants, it is now a reserve for the welfare of these gentle giants.
